Bogdan Shumarov Finally Fights at ONE Fight Night 49

Bogdan Shumarov will finally step into the ring at ONE Fight Night 49 after two previous bookings collapsed, facing promotional newcomer Gasham Mammadov in a lightweight kickboxing bout on Friday, November 6, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The card streams live on Prime Video in U.S. primetime from the historic Lumpinee Stadium, and it closes a frustrating chapter for the Bulgarian knockout artist. A scheduled clash with Regian Eersel fell apart due to injury, and a follow-up assignment against Rukiya Anpo at ONE SAMURAI 4 was scrapped when Anpo missed weight. Neither collapse was on Shumarov, but both left him on the sidelines when he could have been building momentum toward a world title shot.

Why This Fight Matters For Shumarov's Title Hopes

Bogdan Shumarov enters at 19-3 overall and 3-1 inside ONE, with every one of those promotional wins coming by knockout. At 5-foot-11 with heavy hands, he has built his reputation on ending fights early rather than grinding out decisions. A clean, dominant showing against Mammadov puts him right back into lightweight title conversations after months of forced inactivity. For a fighter who has done nothing wrong except get unlucky with opponents, this is as much about proving he still belongs in that picture as it is about padding the record.

Who Is Gasham Mammadov?

Gasham Mammadov is a 23-year-old Silk Muay Thai representative making his promotional debut with a 21-3 record and a notable size edge at 6-foot-1. Beating a proven ONE finisher in his first appearance would instantly vault him into the lightweight conversation, and his height and reach give him a real path to make this awkward for Shumarov if he can keep the fight at range. Debuting opponents are always a wild card for oddsmakers since there is no ONE tape to study, which adds an element of uncertainty here that the market will have to price in carefully.

Betting Angle

Expect Bogdan Shumarov to open as the favorite given his finishing resume inside ONE and the lack of a promotional track record for Gasham Mammadov. That said, bettors should be cautious about treating this as a formality. Shumarov has not competed in months thanks to the Eersel and Anpo situations, and ring rust combined with Mammadov's size could make the early rounds competitive. Live underdog value on Mammadov, especially if he can use his reach to keep Shumarov at the end of his strikes, is worth tracking once lines firm up closer to fight week.

The rest of ONE Fight Night 49 is headlined by Lucas Gabriel against Magomed Magomedov in a lightweight MMA bout, with Victor Hugo making his promotional debut in openweight submission grappling against Devhonte Johnson.
