Dumont Throws Condoms at Perez in Wild UFC Face-Off

Norma Dumont hurled a fistful of condoms at Ailin Perez during Friday's UFC Vegas 121 staredowns in Las Vegas, turning an already tense build into one of the stranger face-offs of the year. The bantamweight rivals met at the podium after both made weight at Meta Apex, and Dumont's stunt, which also involved cash being thrown, immediately overshadowed the rest of the ceremony.

The projectiles were a pointed message. Dumont has been openly critical of Perez's habit of twerking after wins, calling it shameless, and Friday's display read as a public jab at that image rather than a random prank. Perez didn't back down from the exchange and made clear afterward that the attention, however it comes, works in her favor.

"Everything that's happening needs to go viral," Perez said. "It's great entertainment, and she's not taking advantage of that. I'm selling the fight, like I always do with all my fights."

Why This Fight Matters at 135 Pounds

Dumont vs. Perez is a genuine crossroads fight in the women's bantamweight division, not just a grudge match. Both women carry nearly identical records, and both sit inside the division's top five, meaning Saturday's winner strengthens a case for a future title shot down the line. That stakes-driven backdrop is part of why the animosity between them has felt real rather than manufactured for a press run.

Betting Angle

Fights with this much personal heat tend to bring extra intensity in the first exchanges, and that's worth watching on the live line once the walkouts start. Perez has built her UFC run on pressure and finishing instinct, while Dumont has leaned on volume striking and durability, and sportsbooks have generally treated this as one of the closer bantamweight matchups on the card. Given how public this feud has become, expect the pre-fight hype to push more casual action toward Perez, whose entertainment value has clearly translated into a following, while sharper bettors may look at Dumont's technical edge as a reason to shop for value on the other side.

Whatever happens on the scorecards, Friday's staredown already guaranteed this fight won't be forgotten anytime soon.
