Khamzat Abaev vs. Leon Hill Set for PFL Dubai Nov. 14

Khamzat Abaev will face Leon Hill in a welterweight bout at PFL Dubai on Nov. 14 at Coca-Cola Arena, the Professional Fighters League announced.

Abaev (6-1) is coming off a first-round knockout of Luca Poclit at PFL Brussels in May, a result that snapped a rough stretch after his first pro loss, a July 2025 defeat to Chequina Noso Pedro. Hill (9-2) arrives in much better form, riding a four-fight winning streak that includes a stoppage of Aldo Pereira in February while fighting under the Cage Warriors banner. The Irish welterweight hasn't lost since October 2023, when he dropped a decision to Ieuan Davies.

What This Fight Means for PFL's Welterweight Picture

This is a measuring-stick fight for both men. Abaev needs to prove his Brussels knockout was a real course correction and not just a soft turnaround against an opponent who let him tee off early. Hill needs to show his four-fight run translates against a bigger-name opponent inside the PFL cage, since his recent wins came on the regional and Cage Warriors circuit rather than against PFL-level competition. Whoever wins here puts himself in position to climb toward the organization's welterweight contender mix heading into 2027.

Betting Angle

Abaev's one-punch power makes him the live underdog threat in any matchup, and his knockout of Poclit came in under three minutes, which should keep oddsmakers wary of writing him off early. But Hill's four-fight streak and the fact that his only loss on record came over two years ago give him the sturdier recent résumé, and bettors leaning on momentum and consistency will likely see him as the safer side once lines open. Expect the number to hinge heavily on how the market reads Abaev's chin and conditioning coming off that loss to Chequina Noso Pedro.

The card is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Vadim Nemkov and Sergey Bilostenniy, giving PFL Dubai a genuine marquee pairing to sell alongside this welterweight clash.
