Rampage Jackson Backs Herb Dean's Call to Stop King Green Fight

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who worked King Green's corner at UFC 332, says he's fine with referee Herb Dean's decision to stop Green's fight against Esteban Ribovics, even though Green himself disagrees with how it ended.

Jackson and Green aren't on the same page about the stoppage, which puts a former UFC and PRIDE champion in the unusual spot of publicly backing the referee over the fighter he was cornering that night.

Why Rampage Jackson Sided With Herb Dean

A cornerman's job sometimes means making peace with a tough finish, and that appears to be where Quinton Jackson stands. Jackson cornered King Green for the Ribovics fight and has signaled he's comfortable with how Herb Dean called it, even as Green has made clear he sees it differently. The split is notable given Jackson's own history absorbing hard stoppages during his UFC and PRIDE career, which lends weight to how he reads another man's night ending early.

For bettors, the stoppage debate itself doesn't move any lines, but a public disagreement between a fighter and his own corner is the kind of storyline that tends to follow a fighter into his next camp and next fight week, shaping how oddsmakers and fans view his next outing.
